The Offshore Princess Amalia Wind Farm is a joint project of sustainable energy group Econcern, investment company and utility Eneco.

Econcern is the holding company of Ecofys, Ecostream, Evelop and Ecoventures. The mission of these European companies is to ensure 'a sustainable energy supply for everyone.' Econcern specializes in delivering expert services, products and projects in all areas of sustainable energy and energy efficiency. Besides its activities in the Netherlands, Econcern is also engaged in offshore wind farm initiatives in the United Kingdom, Belgium and Germany.

Eneco is one of the three leading energy companies in the Netherlands. Eneco has an integrated distribution strategy and focuses on transport, trade and supply of energy (electricity, gas and heat) and related products and services. In total Eneco serves around two million business and household customers, mainly in the Randstad. Eneco employs some 5000 employees. The main office is located in Rotterdam, The Netherlands.

The project owners have contracted marine contractor Van Oord to build the foundations of the offshore wind farm and lay on the electric infrastructure. They have contracted Vestas to supply and install the towers and wind turbines.

Van Oord is a leading international dredging and marine contractor with a focus on dredging, coastal engineering and offshore. Van Oord employs 2,600 people and operates from more than twenty offices around the world. The company owns the largest state-of-the-art dredging fleets in the world. Van Oord is the result of a merger between Ballast Ham Dredging and Van Oord ACZ in December 2003.

Vestas is the world leader in wind technology and a driving force in the development of the wind power industry. Vestas’ core business comprises the development, manufacture, sale, marketing and maintenance of wind power systems.
