Owners Eneco and Econcern accomplish high turbine availability and energy yield
12 February 2009
The Princess Amalia Wind Farm at the North Sea, which was put into operation by Eneco and Econcern in June of last year, has for 100% met the expectations during the first half year after its opening.
Eneco, which obtains all the electricity generated by the wind farm, has in the period from the end of June until now obtained the same amount of electricity from the wind farm as was foreseen before the start. By now, the 60 wind turbines have been optimised and operate at full power when the wind conditions are good. At optimal wind conditions, the daily electricity production reaches peaks which are over 2 times as high as the average yield. Eneco and Econcern are very pleased with these results, which are important for the further development of wind farms at the North Sea.
